Closing Date: This role will close on 30 April 2023, we may close the role early if a successful applicant is found The Role We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our team of Civil and Geospatial Technicians, who support our teaching, research activities and manage the associated equipment and facilities within the Discipline of Civil and Geospatial Engineering and part of the wider School of Engineering. Our highly skilled and professional technical colleagues are essential to supporting the delivering of successful research and teaching to an international standard within the School and Faculty. We have approximately 80 technicians employed within the School of Engineering working on our campuses and off-site facilities across the North East of England. We have expertise that spans a wide range of disciplines that make a fundamental contribution towards Newcastle University’s aims. As a Senior Geospatial Technician you will be responsible for providing technical support for academic staff, research staff and students within the Geospatial and Civil Engineering Laboratories and Facilities in the School of Engineering. You will be supported by a Technical Team Leader and will have opportunities to develop and learn new skills in our Geospatial Facilities . We are extremely keen to hear from people with a can-do attitude, from a Survey, GIS, Geography or Civil Engineering background, who have a passion in providing technical teaching and research support to our Geospatial activities at Newcastle University.
