The Company
Our client is a sub contract electronics manufacturer who focus heavily on the medical and oil and gas sectors. The company has a trading history dating back over thirty years, they employ 40 staff at their operation in Leicestershire with an annual turnover of £6 million.
The company carries out all the design, prototyping and test work for bespoke application PCBs for their customers offering an added value approach and tailoring each PCB to the specific application required.
After a very successful 2022 the business are now planning to double their turnover in the next five years making this a very exciting time to join a rapidly expanding business.
The Role
The role of Electronic Design Engineer will see you involved in the development of PCBs from the initial conversation with the customer. The customer will be looking to develop a bespoke PCB for a new application and you will lead projects right from the initial customer consultation through to testing and delivery of product to the customer.
The key stages for a project are as follows:
Engage with the customer to understand the application for the circuit board.
Create the technical specification required
Produce the PCB layout on Altium
Design the electronic circuit – using electronic calculations such as ohms law and impedance to select correct components.
Programming of the embedded processor for the circuit board (C)
Prototype PCB build
Creation of the test specifications required
Testing the prototype PCB
Carry out fault finding required on the prototype foll
