We are looking to recruit a talented, driven Graduate Geotechnical & Geo-environmental Engineer.
The role based at our Sheffield office will involve the environmental and geotechnical investigation of land for future development including working under the supervision of Senior Engineers on a variety of different geotechnical/geo-environmental projects/sites
Visiting sites to carry out walkovers, trial pitting, soakaway testing, supervising borehole investigations, verification of capping, gas monitoring etc.
Preparing Phase 1 and 2 geotechnical and geo-environmental site investigation reports
Liaising with clients, regulators, site staff and other staff within the company

Location: York, 2 to 3 days in the office per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct geotechnical site investigations, including fieldwork, drilling, and sampling.
Collaborate with project teams to analyse soil and rock properties for rail infrastructure projects.
Utilise geotechnical logging software to record and manage geotechnical data efficiently.
Perform soil and rock testing in the laboratory to determine engineering properties.
Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports and engineering recommendations.
Assess slope stability, foundation design, and ground improvement techniques.
Assist in the development of innovative geotechnical solutions for rail design challenges.
Work closely with senior engineers and project managers to ensure project goals are met.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control procedures.
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
Relevant HNC or degree.
Good, practical health and safety awareness.
Field experience in a geotechnical related role.
Logging software experience.
Interest in self-development.
