  • lift service engineering: 1 year
  • minimum NVQ3, HNC or equivalent lift or mechanical engineering qualification
  • minimum NVQ3, HNC or equivalent lift or mechanical engineering qualification
  • minimum NVQ3, BTEC, J-Modules, City and Guilds 3, ONC, HNC, HND or equivalent mechanical engineering qualification for Lift & Crane
  • relevant industry experience working with lifts, escalators, moving walkways, goods lift and stair lifts etc
  • minimum three to five years’ relevant industry experience working with lifts, escalators, moving walkways, goods lift and stair lifts
  • current UK driving licence

  • current Clean UK driving license
  • proven technical knowledge of lifts and associated equipment
  • NVQ Level 3 qualified in Lift Engineering/ J5 & J25 modules equivalent to NVQ 3
  • proven previous experience as a Lift Service Engineer or in a similar role within the lift and elevator industry

Responsibility


  • maintain positive relations with customers, suppliers, and between key internal departments feeding into and in many cases leading on important periodic operational and customer meetings regarding Lift & Escalator asset performance, trends, and planned improvements
  • review proposals from other asset groups or external organisations that may impact on maintenance or renewal activity, identify areas potential synergies or feedback on areas of potential negative impacts, and develop optimised plans as applicable
  • working alongside sub-contractors and ensuring the quality of their work

  • location: Home based with daily travel to client sites and we aim to minimise travel where possible and offer localised geographical areas
  • attend lift breakdowns and undertake planned servicing and maintenance work
  • travelling throughout the coverage area
  • overseeing a lift engineer’s mate to ensure works are carried out correctly
  • you may be required to participate in a call out rota
  • employ diagnostic techniques to identify faults, troubleshoot issues, and execute repairs on various lift components, encompassing motors, controllers, door mechanisms, and safety devices
  • good time-management skills, who can prioritise tasks and use their initiative
  • the ability to communicate well, putting the customer first and keeping their promises
  • A friendly 'can-do’ attitude who can instil confidence that the customer’s issue will be resolved
  • complete and turn in field reports that capture all time and work completed on site
