Requirements


  • experience at a Senior Manager level in external banking audits of listed entities and some involvement in audit quality initiatives

  • lead tranches of banking quality inspection activity as required
  • conduct audit file inspections, focusing on all in scope banking entities, including retail banking, investment banking and other emerging financial services and payment providing entities
  • file inspections include analysis of audit workpapers, information gathering through informal and formal questioning of the audit team, discussion with the audit firm of potential issues identified, and conclude with final written reporting
  • conduct inspections of firm-wide procedures at the major audit firms as required, including for example methodologies applied in IFRS9 and IFRS13 and visiting audit firms and reviewing their processes and audit methodologies
  • previous experience working as a Quality inspector ideally with a building service recognised sub-contractor
  • hold full UK driving licence
  • working in quality orientated production/engineering environment
  • experience inspecting electrical and mechanical products with the ability to understand technical drawings and follow written instructions
  • good written skills, with the ability to create documentation
  • manual handling of inspected instruments required

Responsibility


  • participate in other projects as required
  • supporting audit firm supervisors and playing a role in the production of the annual public reports on audit firms in relation to inspection findings
  • play a significant role globally in the promotion and development of audit regulation
  • our client, a regulator are seeking an Inspector Banking within their Audit Quality Review team
  • conduct inspections of firm-wide procedures at the major audit firms as required and visiting audit firms and reviewing their processes and audit methodologies
  • audit Quality Review
  • as QC Inspector you will be responsible for providing independent quality control services across a range of nuclear building services disciplines
  • the services are provided at vendors’, potential vendors’, or other participating entities’ and on the Sellafield site
  • you will be an experienced Inspector, fit, able to work at height and confined spaces
  • review and advise on Inspection and Test Plans/ MAR’s  submitted for approval, when required
  • developing and maintaining excellent relationships with both internal and external customers
  • deliver independent inspection and quality control services at operating sites and vendors relating to new equipment in manufacture, fabrication, and construction
  • inspection and monitoring of construction site activities with a view to produce a quality product
  • health and Safety reporting using the ‘near miss’ observation system and acting with positive intervention
  • review of site installation of HVAC systems and associated plant items
  • location: Chertsey, Chertsey

  • investigating quality problems with components in cooperation with Quality Engineer and Production
  • have a clear understanding of the Quality and HS&E Management system documentation e.g. Process instructions, Workmanship Standards, Risk Assessments in line with their work scope
  • this role will provide you with the opportunity to fully participate in the development, maintenance and modification of processes and procedures in assigned areas
