Responsibility

provide high-quality clinical care for inpatients
manage a caseload of 14-16 patients
work autonomously and contribute to teaching sessions
collaborate with a well-established multi-disciplinary team which includes OT, psychologist, visiting GP, physical health practitioner and RMNs
participate in an on-call rota
take clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews and the development of a therapeutic milieu
work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure that patients have access to appropriate treatment
management of complex cases
review referrals and determine appropriateness for admission
ensure that people admitted are assessed, treated, and discharged safely
to be a member of the Medical Directorate advising on psychiatric and medical issues within the unit
take overall responsibility for patient treatment plans in conjunction with the MDT
senior clinical advisory role to sites on clinical matters and clinical strategy across Pinhoe View, Woodmill and The Copse
ensuring an adequate handover to colleagues including out of hours
acting as a Responsible Clinician / Consultant Psychiatrist for a number of inpatients supported by 2.4 WTE Consultant Psychiatrists
review referrals and determine appropriateness for admission in a timely manner
providing RC input to inpatients in specialist services
undertaking psychiatric assessments of patients referred to your unit to determine an appropriate care pathway
work effectively with colleagues to ensure that service users have access to appropriate medical cover
contribute to service development by participating in Clinical Governance activities such as Quality Improvement projects, audits, research, and teaching
