Requirements

  • ideally a relevant engineering qualification – BTEC, NVQ, ONC etc
  • mobile plant tickets/ experience desirable but not essential
  • some basic mechanical or electrical maintenance skills would be Advantageous
  • A good understanding and awareness of H&S
  • willingness to work on a 12-hour shift pattern that includes both days and nights
  • production/operations or maintenance experience in a heavy Industrial environment, preferably within the power gen or EFW sector or similar e.g., anaerobic digestion, waste, Cement, Distillery. Marine Engineers at ET level would also suit
  • we are looking for someone who wants to get stuck in, and somebody who embraces the outdoors
  • keen to learn new skills
  • ideal applicants will have a process background in an industrial or similar setting
  • have previous operative experience would be beneficial but is not essential – we welcome people who are keen to learn
  • the successful candidate should be comfortable working both alone and within a team
  • energetic
  • experience working in a manufacturing facility within process improvement/Health and safety
  • ability to work autonomously and closely follow process procedures
  • degree in science related discipline

Responsibility

  • performing plant walk-arounds and inspections, ensuring optimum performance of plant machinery
  • carrying out first line maintenance activities to ensure minimal plant breakdowns
  • operating a range of mobile plant including FLTs, excavators and overhead cranes
  • undertaking relevant training to eventually operate the plant via the Distributed control system
  • assisting with plant shutdowns

  • what you’ll be doing as a Process Technician
  • temporary role
  • your role will be to ensure that the site is running safely, efficiently and within line of site specifications
  • you will be taking samples for water and chemical analysis and testing
  • initially 26-week Assignment
  • you may well also have to oversee any contractors who are working on our sites
  • about The Role
  • participate in and deliver health, safety, quality and environmental audits to identify risk and opportunities for development
  • undertake project work where required
  • review standard operating procedures and continuously improving where possible
  • evaluate characteristics of raw material and products throughout the manufacturing process
  • to look after and maintain the machine tool setting applications
  • to assist and drive continuous improvement opportunities to maximise efficiency
