Requirements


  • applicants must have graduated from a UK PA Course and passed the national examination
  • this would be suitable for New Graduate Physician Associates as well as experienced Physician Associates
  • salaried/hourly rates dependant on experience

Responsibility


  • undertake medical histories, carry out physical examinations, update records, make diagnoses, analyse test results, triage patients, and deliver treatment as appropriate
  • work within their scope of clinical practice and provide first point of contact care for patients presenting with undifferentiated, undiagnosed problems, utilising history-taking, physical examinations and clinical decision-making skills to establish a working diagnosis and management plan in partnership with the patient
  • attend consultant ward rounds and provide continuing care for patients on the unit
  • delivering a high standard of patient care using advanced autonomous clinical skills with in-depth theoretical knowledge and evidence-based practice
  • fully documenting all aspects of patient care and completing all required paperwork for legal and administrative purposes
  • providing first point of contact for patients presenting with undifferentiated, undiagnosed problems
  • requesting and interpreting results of laboratory investigations when necessary, Instructing and educating patients in preventative health care
