Requirements


  • pharmacy Technician
  • GPHC Registration
  • previous experience within a UK based Pharmacy setting
  • NVQ or equivalent – Pharmacy Technician qualification
  • valid Passport/Visa
  • fully compliant and cleared to work
  • knowledge of pharmaceutical products and storage requirements is an asset
  • NVQ 2 Qualified
  • familiarity with Human Medicines Regulations 2012 and EU GDP Guidelines

Responsibility


  • as a Pharmacy Support Worker, you work as part of the Pharmacy team to provide an effective pharmacy service in the Pharmacy Dispensary, at Ward Level and to support the dispensing of out-patient prescriptions
  • follow all standard operating procedures accurately
  • to collect and deliver pharmaceuticals, intravenous and irrigation fluids to ward/department/theatre areas, obtaining staff signatures as proof of delivery
  • to remove expired and damaged stock
  • to file delivery notes. requisitioned orders and prescriptions in date order
  • any other duties required which are judged to be within the competency of the pharmacy assistant grade, with appropriate training where required
  • to report on and follow up on the overstocking, understocking and review of stock levels
  • to maintain the level of consumables including containers, bags, stationery, water for dilution, spoons, syringes and yellow disposal bins
  • to assemble pharmaceuticals for Retrieval packs following Standard Operating Procedures and Health and Safety
  • they will provide support the Pharmacy Team in the provision of an efficient and high-quality service to the hospital’s internal and external customers. The post-holder will be accountable on a day-to-day basis to the Lead Research Technicians
