Requirements
HND / OND / C&G / Mechanical Apprenticeship
C&G Cert / or equivalent experience in Fabrication & Welding and/or HNC/BTec in appropriate engineering discipline
minimum of 2 years’ experience in the inspection of Welded fabrications / manufactured equipment for nuclear and conventional power generation applications
minimum of 5 years’ experience in the inspection of mechanical equipment
sound understanding and qualification where necessary in Materials, Welding and NDE techniques
QC Inspectors are responsible for providing independent Quality Control and mechanical inspection services across a range of mechanical disciplines
the services are provided at vendors’, potential vendors' or other participating entities’ premises and locations within the above geographical areas
you will be an experienced Inspector, fit and able to work at height and confined spaces
be able to demonstrate a proactive, self-motivated approach to technical and non-technical work
have good technical writing and communication skills
good working knowledge of the Customers quality requirements
QC Inspectors are responsible for providing independent Quality Control and weld inspection services across a range of nuclear mechanical and electrical disciplines
good working knowledge and application of ISO 9001
formal technical engineering/craft apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21or HNC

Responsibility
developing and maintaining excellent relationships with both internal and external Customers
deliver independent inspection and quality control services at operating sites and vendors relating to new equipment in manufacture, fabrication and construction
equipment ranging from Class 1 nuclear pressure equipment to items manufactured and installed to conventional codes, standards and regulations
review of fabrication / manufacturing documentation within delegated authority levels in terms of quality plans, ITP’s fabrication / manufacturing procedures, welding procedures, NDE procedures, compilation and review of LTQR’s
on behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit a Mechanical Inspector on a 12-month contract
certify the product in line with the product certification procedure
examining for correct assembly
examining the finish of all parts to detect faulty finishing or painting, deterioration of surfaces etc
inspect for physical damage
intermediate inspection checks non product certification
as the Mechanical Inspector you will be responsible for certifying the product in line with the product certification procedure, examining for correct assembly and examining the finish of all parts to detect faulty finishing or painting, deterioration of surfaces etc
monitor product certification operators
check and complete all paperwork associated with the manufacturing data pack
certify products following established product certification procedures
conduct meticulous assessments for correct assembly

perform intermediate inspection checks that do not require product certification
monitor the performance of product certification operators
