  • CMT lab: 1 year
  • recognized Qualification in Materials / Laboratory based field - HNC or above preferable
  • optical microscope operation

  • understanding of a wide range of materials
  • basic understanding of vehicle assembly and environment

Responsibility


  • carry out routine Quality Control testing for EDU, Battery and Frame Assembly
  • perform radiographic analysis of components
  • write test reports and communicate clearly with customers throughout the business
  • routinely review data and maintain statistical reports, to understand capability and ensure variance is understood and controlled
  • use metallurgical prep and test equipment to assess any component according to standard test processes, as required by Engineering specification or drawing; or to support diagnosis of a failure or non-conformance
  • compliance to Health and Safety procedures by ensuring all safety metrics are achieved, including identifying safety hazards and risks and supporting implementation of corrective action
  • coordinate defined product & material testing activities
  • interpret and ensure customers' systems and specifications are met
  • conduct testing and examination of metallurgical specimens – spectrometer analysis, tensile testing, hardness testing, porosity checks
  • analyse results, produce reports, and make appropriate recommendations
  • operate test equipment and tools and maintain accurate records
  • represent the Quality Metallurgical Department at morning meetings
  • follow laboratory procedures to maintain a safe working environment
  • accurately make and measure samples, recording data and observations
  • assist in the physical preparation of material samples for analysis
  • maintain laboratory equipment and support facility maintenance
  • collaborate effectively with team members and cross-functional departments
  • routine inspections, sampling and testing Aggregate/recycled and Earthworks materials, Concrete and Asphalt
  • leading the production of compressive strength specimens
  • taking part in research and development projects Particle size and density testing
