proven experience as a Production Manager or in a similar leadership role within the manufacturing industry
knowledge of CAD/CAM programming
chartered Mechanical Engineer with experience within the precision engineering industry
strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and lean manufacturing principles
demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans and drive operational improvements
financial acumen with experience in budget management and cost control

previous experience within a senior level position, e.g. Operations Manager, Operations Director, Plant Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Factory Manager, General Manager etc

A degree, or equivalent, in Production or Operations Management
experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, implementing continuous improvement tools and techniques, and problem-solving techniques
10 years minimum in a similar manufacturing managerial role with proven track record
IOSH or Nebosh qualified in Health and Safety

Responsibility

oversee daily operations of the manufacturing plant to ensure production targets are met
develop and implement strategic plans to enhance production capabilities, workflow, and plant performance
lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
collaborate with the senior management team to align manufacturing goals with the company's strategic objectives
ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a safe and productive work environment
manage budget and financial performance, including cost control, inventory management, and capital expenditures
identify and pursue new business opportunities to meet the revenue target
drive initiatives for lean manufacturing, quality assurance, and process improvement to enhance product quality and reduce waste
manage, direct and monitor the overall performance of the manufacturing organisation
effective liaison, support and assistance across the whole organisation
utilise agreed systems to manage the organisation’s functions, analysis and documentation
give clear direction in the development of plans for the organisation to achieve targets
developing plans for the organisation’s progress and growth
support all departments in matters related to manufacturing, e.g., procurement of materials
reporting on a monthly basis or as otherwise required
maintain and improve mechanisms for manufacturing and all organisational activities, including surveying and measuring the manufacturing operations, process, outcomes and profitability and disseminate feedback to the appropriate internal entities
developing plans for team activities to include strategy to achieve targets
assist in the development and preparation of the strategy and general business planning of the organisation as a whole
responsibly use resources and control expenses to meet budgetary controls
delegation of task and responsibility to the team with supervision, accountability and review
