Requirements

part 66 Licence B1, B2 or B1/B2
indentured apprenticeship or equivalent in an aviation engineering or similar mechanical engineering field
minimum of 3 years experience as a technician
must be able to work in a dynamic environment and be flexible to meet changing working requirements
must have the right to work in the United Kingdom
full UK Driving license Essential
knowledge of MS Office applications
ensuring and maintaining that all equipment used is maintained and stored correctly
ensure compliance to all policies, safe code of practice, procedures, standard operating practices, with recommendations for action and continuous improvement
ensure that electrical / mechanical installations on the Ports plant and equipment are repaired and maintained in a safe, cost-effective manner with minimal operational disruption
diagnose, oversee, and rectify faults on the Ports container handling and material handling equipment as well as workshop equipment to include repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, control and instrumentation faults
maintenance: 1 year
prioritising safety and work to meet all the business requirements at the Port of Felixstowe, whilst ensuring the maintenance and installations are managed safely for yourself and others
regular progress reports on all maintenance, installation and commissioning work, updating internal systems to keep Engineering Management and Supervisory staff up to date on current repair work status

they are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Engineer who is multi-skilled within Electrical Fault-Finding, Pneumatic Fault-Finding and Mechanical Fitting to join their team based in Solihull
work closely with the team to maintain and enhance operational efficiency
this role is offered on a long-term contract basis, initially 6 months however this will roll onto 12 months plus permanent opportunities available for the right candidates with the right qualifications
the manufacturing site includes numerous modern technologies encompassing automated multi-axis robots, automated welding and joining equipment, laser joining systems, automated conveyors, complex tooling and fixturing and lifting equipment to name but a few
you will provide engineering maintenance support to maximise production efficiencies by maintaining all manufacturing assets and ancillary equipment within the manufacturing facility

certifying specific aircraft types on their QA044 Staff Authorisation Document
monitor performance against plan, and provide regular briefings, guidance, and support to allocated staff as required to deliver the plan
in the event a Check Manager is not available, and that the B1 or B2 Certifying Engineers has Category C privilege and not certified any document during that input, may be requested to act as a C Cert to release to service specific aircraft types within the scope of limitations their QA044 Staff Authorisation Document
coordination of all staff within their work area, drawing up and allocating a daily work plan to deliver their zone and work area to the agreed schedule
management of a defined ‘zone’ of work to deliver the maintenance task to schedule and be accountable for the technical integrity of all work carried out under their control
servicing of installation, maintenance, and support requests for systems on their campus
