Requirements


  • joinery: 1 year
  • carpentry: 1 year
  • proven experience in joinery or carpentry is essential
  • familiarity with power tools and hand tools is required
  • knowledge of electrical systems related to joinery work is advantageous
  • experience in masonry work is a plus but not mandatory
  • ability to read technical drawings and plans accurately
  • strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are crucial for success in this role
  • joinery: 5 years
  • carpentry: 5 years
  • live local to Wolverhampton/ Dudley
  • hold a valid CSCS card
  • have your own tools
  • be able to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision
  • loading/ unloading vehicles at our yard or on site
  • preferably self-employed - with own public Liability insurance
  • assembling a range of components on site
  • driving License preferred but not essential
  • training to become a fully skilled carpenter/ builder/ fitter
  • we currently have an exciting opportunity for Shopfitters based around the Dudley/ Wolverhampton area to work on various contracts for our Shopfitting and Installation Division

Responsibility


  • construct, assemble, and install wooden structures such as doors, windows, cabinets, and furniture
  • use power tools and hand tools to cut, shape, and finish materials according to specifications
  • perform joinery tasks including fitting joints, plumb lines, and ensuring proper alignment of structures
  • collaborate with other tradespeople such as electricians and masons to complete projects efficiently
  • fabricate custom pieces as required by project specifications
  • maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations
  • inspect completed work for quality assurance and make adjustments as necessary
  • carrying out LED lighting replacements both in hours & out of hours and in line with the project schedule
  • carry out any remedial works required from time to time
  • ability to prioritise tasks and work with site teams
  • ability to interpret drawings and specifications, foresee issues, make recommendations
  • cutting and building frames to technical drawings and specifications
  • good organisational skills
  • good communication skills
  • keen eye for detail and be happy to snag work upon completion, make further recommendations
  • participate in Health & Safety Codes of safe working and other environmental issues to ensure total compliance with company policy
  • look for ways to continually enhance the operation of the site
  • supporting team members as required, including travel
  • carrying out fitting out and refurbishment work to mainly retail units. This could be within any of our stores , throughout the UK and Scotland
