  • educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience working in a specialist area
  • dual registered sick children's nurse/Registered Nurse with a current NMC registration or equivalent

  • my Client are an NHS Trust based in West Midlands and are seeking a Senior Nurse Assessor - Learning Disability on an initial 6 month contract basis Paying £315 per day
  • evidence of leadership, management and team development
  • significant experience of working with children and young people with complex and long-term health needs, disabilities and those with life limited/palliative or end of life
  • evidence of professional/clinical and managerial expertise and knowledge acquired through CPD
  • firstpoint Healthcare are currently recruiting Learning Disability Nurses to work with the NHS in the Macclesfield area, on a 6-month placement with the opportunity to be extended
  • qualified Registered Nurse MH or LD
  • be available for assessments or other clinical work where required
  • registered Nurse possessing an active Nursing and Midwifery Council PIN, accompanied by a minimum of 12 months of post-qualification experience

Responsibility


  • oversee the efficient day-to-day operations of the service
  • allocate resources and monitor performance to deliver high-quality care within budget
  • manage and lead staff, ensuring they understand their roles, responsibilities, and have the necessary support to work safely and effectively
  • lead the delivery of best practice interventions to meet people we support needs safely and with minimal restriction
  • conduct regular audits of care, analysing documentation and observing people we support experiences to maintain quality
  • collaborate with the Clinical Support Manager to monitor intervention trends, support staff development, and implement lessons learned
  • ensure comprehensive, up-to-date care plans in partnership with people we support, families, and health professionals

  • to undertake and manage direct evidence based patient care and treatment
  • participate fully with the multidisciplinary team and ensure that the patient is fully engaged in their care pathway

  • maintain and evidence standards of competence as defined by the NMC, in order to remain registered
