Requirements


  • ECA's should have a FREC4 or equivalent medical qualification plus a C1 licence and a recognised blue light driver qualification
  • you will hold a FREC 4 or equivalent qualification and an emergency driving qualification
  • have a warm and caring personality with the ability to connect with people
  • lastly, you will have quality references covering the last three years of employment history and a satisfactory, enhanced DBS check
  • hold a UK manual ‘Category B’ driving licence for at least 3 years and no more than 3 points on your licence
  • physical fitness is important in this role as there is sometimes a requirement to reach inaccessible patients in a hurry, carry out manual handling and CPR

  • ACP are proud to be an established private ambulance provider with a deeply rooted history of supporting the NHS. We assess, care, treat and transport hundreds of patients in urgent and emergency situations every day, across the country
  • thursday 1st August
  • responding to operational requirements in a safe and efficient way as directed by the Emergency Control Centre
  • ensure that required equipment is stored, transported and cared for so that they are always in good working order
  • to ensure a continuous duty of care to patients, within the level of training and competency of this role, ensuring an appropriate level of monitoring and treatment is maintained and continued until the patient is either discharged or transferred to the care of another healthcare professional
  • report any accidents and/or injuries to patients, members of the public and to vehicles promptly and to make a full report of any such incident on the required documentation without delay
  • observe patient vital signs using skills and equipment relevant to scope of practice as directed and reporting any changes to the qualified clinician
  • the accurate recording of all journey information such as deterioration in patient’s health, accidents involving patients, any abusive or threatening behaviour on the incident form or any other required documentation as required
  • take personal action to resolve patient’s issues of concern or complaints, or where this is not possible, advising the patient or their family/careers on whom to contact next
  • under the direction of a clinically qualified practitioner e.g Paramedic, Technician, Paramedic Practitioner, Emergency Care Practitioner or Clinical Supervisor, assist and support in the provision of high quality and effective pre-hospital clinical care to the community, responding as appropriate using emergency driving skills, to a wide range variety of situations including medical emergencies, inter-hospital transfers, urgent hospital admissions and other allocated operational duties commensurate with the ECA Scope of Practice
  • to use/operate all equipment, facilities, vehicles and premises in an efficient, effective and safe manner, reporting faults in the appropriate manner.·
  • to assist in ensuring the efficient use of medical supplies, maintaining adequate supplies throughout the shift, ensuring single use items are used according to protocols and ensuring that all clinical waste is disposed of according to ER Systems Policy and current legislation.·
  • to report any incidences of risk, neglect, abuse or endangerment in accordance with ER Systems policy and client policy
  • to undertake a dynamic risk assessment on arrival at the scene of an incident, or to support colleagues in this duty, in accordance with ER Systems policy and professional guidelines, having due regard for the health and safety of self and others and to request additional support appropriate to the circumstances through the Emergency Operations Centre
  • as appropriate, assess, manage, discharge, and convey patients
  • meet the standards set out in the East Midlands Medical Services Ltd healthcare professionals and clinical practice policy
