Requirements


  • experience of control system project delivery, demonstrable experience of design, implementation, test and commissioning roles within a project team
  • basic understanding of electrical system drawings, including GA’s, Wiring Schematics and Termination Diagrams
  • good fundamental electrical knowledge and ability to understand/interpret system drawings
  • sound grasp of general IT/OT Technologies and development methodologies
  • awareness/understanding of Quality Management System procedures
  • knowledge of Windows Operating System configuration and lockdown
  • knowledge of network switch and firewall configuration and network management packages
  • undertaken a structured project delivery lifecycle
  • expert knowledge and application of control theory applied to dynamic control of robots, vehicles or other mechanical systems
  • experience of defining control system functional, performance and safety requirements
  • experience of electronic sensors and actuators, including hall effect sensors, encoders, linear and rotary actuators
  • experience of hydraulic systems, including manual valve operation and digital or proportional valve configuration and control
  • understanding of motor control and motor technologies
  • experience of a Model Based Systems Engineering tool, I.e. Matlab/Simulink for design verification
  • experience in writing clear technical papers and reports
  • implementing algorithms in C/C++
  • ability to represent TfL’s interests with external parties e.g. Regulatory bodies, standards bodies and suppliers
  • extensive experience of Road and Rail Traffic Control engineering and its practical application to high value programmes
  • high level of integrity
  • extensive experience of personal responsibility for providing professional engineering support to major projects and maintenance organisation , where there are complex interfaces

Responsibility


  • ? Perform temporary and permanent software modifications to PES
  • ? Perform unscheduled maintenance recoveries to significant systems and/or technically challenging systems without supervision
  • knowledge & Experience
  • ? Assist the Team Manager in the preparation of maintenance schedules and other support activities
  • control Systems, instrumentation, CE&I or software background
  • ? Ability to perform process assurance roles
  • design, development, programming and testing of mission critical innovative solutions under the guidance of more experienced Engineers
  • work as a key team member resolving hardware and software challenges for assigned solution areas
  • design and configuration of cyber-secure infrastructure and communications between solution components using industry standard protocols
  • develop a thorough understanding of ITI’s operational procedures and ensure compliance with both internal and external standards
  • assembly supervision and electrical testing of solution hardware under the guidance of experienced Engineers
  • installation and commissioning of solutions on customer sites
