Requirements

  • degree educated, preferably in a property-related field
  • minimum 10 years' experience in senior construction management
  • strong strategic planning and advisory skills
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • thorough knowledge of construction processes and regulations
  • degree in a relevant field or equivalent industry–standard qualification
  • significant experience in construction management, particularly within PV Solar projects
  • thorough understanding of health and safety practices
  • working knowledge of PV solar technology and electrical infrastructure
  • experience in managing project teams and effectively delivering project goals
  • familiarity with Grid Connection works
  • strong commercial skills and budgetary control experience
  • experience with CDM regulations
  • leadership skills including clear vision, critical issue management, innovation, and decision–making
  • building & Construction Manager
  • working knowledge of QA/QC installation procedures and test plans
  • hold or be capable of training in CDM/IOSHH/NEBOSH qualifications
  • must be a non smoker
  • safety management eg NEBOSH, IOSH
  • working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety

Responsibility

  • provide strategic advice on construction projects, including design, procurement, budget, and variation control
  • review and summarize key project documents, monitoring progress and ensuring compliance
  • oversee preliminary matters like development briefs, project team appointments, and insurance
  • manage project costs, forecasts, and team performance
  • coordinate design efforts and manage the planning process
  • participate in tendering and negotiation processes
  • ensure legal compliance and responsibility for ongoing property management
  • provide expert advice in the appraisal of potential development acquisitions and in construction & development options
  • take schemes forward from concept through planning, detailed design and construction
  • procure lead and manage the professional team
  • manage the procurement of contractors and project manage the development through to handover and coordinate with tenants
  • setting Capex budgets for developments and managing the costs throughout the development process
  • liaising with external legal advisors preparing appointment deeds, construction documents and warranties
  • management of Joint Venture partners
  • inspecting work on site is done per drawings and coordinating with building control
  • creating budgets for construction projects
  • develop a set of remote management procedures to assist with project monitoring
  • ensure adherence to EDF Renewables' Health and Safety policies throughout all construction activities
  • support the business development team during project development, feasibility, and consenting stages for PV Solar projects
  • manage the Front End Engineering and Design process and collaborate with the Engineering team
