Requirements

degree educated, preferably in a property-related field
minimum 10 years' experience in senior construction management
strong strategic planning and advisory skills
excellent communication and interpersonal skills
thorough knowledge of construction processes and regulations
significant experience of major oil and gas construction projects
A recognised qualification in construction
experience in managing safety in fabrication yards, hazard identification and formal incident investigation procedures
A proven track record of successful delivery in a highly regulated environment
experience in commissioning activities associated with Major Projects
hands on Construction Management Experience in accordance with the CDM Regulations 2015
fabrication contract administration experience
experience in the Nuclear and Defence sector with a demonstrable knowledge across the industry including the commercial drivers and key influencers
good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
experience in undertaking Principal Contractor duties
degree in a relevant field or equivalent industry–standard qualification
significant experience in construction management, particularly within PV Solar projects
thorough understanding of health and safety practices
working knowledge of PV solar technology and electrical infrastructure
experience in managing project teams and effectively delivering project goals

Responsibility

provide strategic advice on construction projects, including design, procurement, budget, and variation control
review and summarize key project documents, monitoring progress and ensuring compliance
oversee preliminary matters like development briefs, project team appointments, and insurance
manage project costs, forecasts, and team performance
coordinate design efforts and manage the planning process
participate in tendering and negotiation processes
ensure legal compliance and responsibility for ongoing property management
day to day management of the projects site team and construction contractor
participation in fabrication site safety and quality walkabouts
active and visible leadership complimenting contractor safety programs and processes
interface coordination with external contractors

ensuring resources, engineering, equipment and material deliveries are on track and taking appropriate measures to maintain schedule and progress
promoting and driving continuous construction improvements
provide expert advice in the appraisal of potential development acquisitions and in construction & development options
take schemes forward from concept through planning, detailed design and construction
procure lead and manage the professional team
manage the procurement of contractors and project manage the development through to handover and coordinate with tenants
setting Capex budgets for developments and managing the costs throughout the development process
