Requirements


  • responsible for day to day management, efficient administrative function and professional care for residents
  • liaison with the Social Care Regulators, Local Authority and Fire Authority to ensure satisfactory standards are maintained at the Home
  • ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of residents
  • to understand the budget constraints that apply to the Nursing Home

  • minimum 3 years of experience as a Care Home Manager in a nursing home setting
  • valid NMC PIN
  • strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to work independently
  • experience in managing medication administration and clinical procedures
  • A deep understanding of CQC regulations and best practices in elderly care
  • excellent communication and organisational skills

Responsibility


  • ensure all staff are supported
  • provide motivational leadership, embed with a culture of excellence across all departments
  • develop an annual business plan and a longer term 5-10 year plan
  • provide budgetary/revenue/costs management and analyse of financial reports
  • lead a range of projects including estates and fundraising
  • develop, implement and keep refreshed a marketing strategy
  • act as the first point of contact for the Trustees and provide assurance to the Trustees via regular reports/dashboard, site inspections and Trustee meetings
  • lead the development and implementation of a robust workforce Human Resources management system including recruitment, L&D, retention plan and processes and in line with policies, procedures and statutory requirements
  • manage the day-to-day operations of the nursing home, ensuring compliance with CQC regulations and best practices
  • oversee and support the medication rounds , ensuring the safety and well-being of residents
  • work collaboratively with the Deputy Manager and care team to deliver person-centred care
  • ensure that all staff adhere to NMC and clinical governance guidelines
  • maintain high standards of care, hygiene, and safety across the home
  • lead, mentor, and develop staff to maintain a positive working environment
  • foster strong relationships with residents, families, and external healthcare professionals
  • work with HR to recruit, retain, and manage staff effectively
  • conduct performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities
  • financial Management: Oversee financial performance, including income, expenses, and profitability. Implement efficient management policies and procedures to ensure financial sustainability
  • team Leadership: Lead and develop a large multidisciplinary team, ensuring cross-organisational collaboration
  • staffing Management: Maintain adequate staffing levels and manage rotas in line with occupancy and budgetary requirements
