Requirements

responsible for day to day management, efficient administrative function and professional care for residents
liaison with the Social Care Regulators, Local Authority and Fire Authority to ensure satisfactory standards are maintained at the Home
ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of residents
to understand the budget constraints that apply to the Nursing Home
ensure that health and safety standards are maintained
accountable direct to the Director for the day to day management of the Home
to implement and audit, where required, any Quality System undertaken by the Company

minimum 3 years of experience as a Care Home Manager in a nursing home setting
valid NMC PIN
strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to work independently
experience in managing medication administration and clinical procedures
A deep understanding of CQC regulations and best practices in elderly care
excellent communication and organisational skills

Responsibility

ensure all staff are supported
provide motivational leadership, embed with a culture of excellence across all departments
develop an annual business plan and a longer term 5-10 year plan
provide budgetary/revenue/costs management and analyse of financial reports
lead a range of projects including estates and fundraising
develop, implement and keep refreshed a marketing strategy
act as the first point of contact for the Trustees and provide assurance to the Trustees via regular reports/dashboard, site inspections and Trustee meetings
lead the development and implementation of a robust workforce Human Resources management system including recruitment, L&D, retention plan and processes and in line with policies, procedures and statutory requirements
manage the day-to-day operations of the nursing home, ensuring compliance with CQC regulations and best practices
oversee and support the medication rounds , ensuring the safety and well-being of residents
work collaboratively with the Deputy Manager and care team to deliver person-centred care
ensure that all staff adhere to NMC and clinical governance guidelines
maintain high standards of care, hygiene, and safety across the home
lead, mentor, and develop staff to maintain a positive working environment
foster strong relationships with residents, families, and external healthcare professionals
work with HR to recruit, retain, and manage staff effectively
conduct performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities
financial Management: Oversee financial performance, including income, expenses, and profitability. Implement efficient management policies and procedures to ensure financial sustainability
team Leadership: Lead and develop a large multidisciplinary team, ensuring cross-organisational collaboration
staffing Management: Maintain adequate staffing levels and manage rotas in line with occupancy and budgetary requirements
