Requirements


  • simple calculation knowledge in the form of Steelwork beams, masonry load bearing checks, foundation checks/design including GBP checks
  • knowledge of simple loading transfer and load paths within building structures to allow for assessment of existing modifications to building structures
  • some experience with software but can be given training/support
  • general engineering knowledge and also have knowledge of Health and safety
  • doesn't have a problem with visiting sites in Derby with your own transport
  • possibly working towards IEng status
  • some AutoCAD knowledge, but be able to sketch/draw general arrangement drawings, engineering connections where needed, and also sketches relating to any form of steelwork, concrete, timber and masonry to a limited degree

  • understanding across all MEP Services and capable of producing layouts with minimal assistance
  • knowledge of BIM
  • qualifications: Knowledge of building construction and buildings services

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Carpentry / building / general qualifications in building services
  • hold a recognised health and safety qualification, or be prepared to be trained
  • good knowledge and experience of MEP services and recognised fabric repair techniques
  • A basic understanding of the L8 ACOP, or be prepared to be trained for

Responsibility


  • performing detailed preventive and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with schedules
  • fault diagnosis and rectification on all plant and equipment within the manufacturing facility
  • identifying the root cause of asset faults, improving asset performance and reliability to meet operational objectives
  • provide process knowledge and guidance for Kaizen activities with integrated production and maintenance teams
  • ownership of 5S and workplace organisation activities to standards
  • to work as part of the maintenance team to ensure a safe and efficient production performance is delivered within the Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People and Environment framework
  • utilise lean manufacturing techniques to improve the process and layout
  • providing a fast and efficient response time to any plant breakdowns that occur, whilst ensuring all company procedures and standards are adhered to
  • delivering a premium product from your manufacturing facility, you will take extreme pride in being part of the maintenance operations team at LOC, providing engineering maintenance support to maximise production efficiencies by maintaining all manufacturing assets and ancillary equipment within the manufacturing facility
  • liaise with the mechanical, electrical, and public health design engineers and other technicians
  • create Revit elements and objects
  • understand system and shared parameters
  • interpret engineer's designs and relay into an architectural base model in Revit format, and produce 2D design stage drawings in accordance with the RIBA Wok Stages 1 to 5
  • carry out other miscellaneous duties associated with the role
  • researches and investigates new materials and methods of improving resource and energy usage
  • maintains ongoing financial appraisal of projects, and seeks quotations or tenders, and provides estimates
  • ability to maintain / repair a range of building fabrics and ground works, to recognised standards whilst working with minimum supervision
  • to liaise with project teams on store alterations, modernisations, and other relevant works
  • to carry out minor alterations and installations within the individual’s technical competence in accordance with current specifications agreed with the retailer
  • carry out annual PPM service on all roller shutters installed within each store
