Requirements


  • art Therapy
  • pupil
  • current HCPC registration
  • experience supporting pupils with learning difficulties and SEMH
  • excellent communication and organisational skills
  • provide Art Therapy in the most appropriate environment e.g. Hospice, community care unit, inpatient unit
  • maintain high standards of Art Therapy care and correct medical ethics, behaving in a professional manner at all times
  • develop, provide and evaluate individual Art Therapy for Hospice patients, their families/carers
  • offer Art Therapy as part of bereavement care and support
  • establish person centred goals and evaluate intervention
  • liaise as appropriate with external agencies, ensuring appropriate services are in place and where necessary provide follow up intervention
  • must be HCPC registered
  • previous CAMHS experience
  • master's degree in Art Therapy or a related field from an accredited institution
  • certification or licensure as an Art Therapist
  • previous experience working as an Art Therapist in an educational setting is preferred
  • knowledge of child development, psychology, and counselling principles
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to collaborate effectively with WMAT’s multidisciplinary team
  • the Art Therapist should collaborate closely with school counsellors, psychologists, and other professionals to create a comprehensive support network for WMAT’s students

Responsibility

  • managing your own caseload, which will involve working with complex service-users
  • attending regular meetings, such as MDT's, CPA's, referrals, and peer supervision

  • working as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team
  • providing both individual and group work throughout the hospital
  • providing both long & short-term work, which includes being able to undertake clinical assessments to determine clinical needs & treatment plans
  • maintaining monthly clinical supervision as well as regular line-management supervision
  • providing professional advice in finding resolutions to problems/challenges - with the emphasis on improving service-user experience

  • both written & verbal contributions to MDT & CPA process
  • participate in meetings with WMAT staff, administrators, and external agencies as needed
  • participating in team meetings and training programmes as an active member of a team
