residential support worker
Responsibility
- act as a positive role model for children and young people, offering care and support based on structure, consistency, and nurturing
- ensure the safety and well-being of each child or young person at all times
- be intuitive to the physical and emotional needs of children and young people
- monitor, record, and report any indications of stress or abuse
- encourage and promote good personal hygiene and semi-independence in daily activities
- support children and young people in a wide range of activities, including escorting them to and from activities
- communicate effectively with parents, teachers, therapists, and social workers
- maintain accurate records and documentation using our electronic recording system
Requirements
- relevant qualifications in social work, childcare, or a related field
- experience working with children and young people, preferably in a residential setting
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to manage personal and professional boundaries
- preparedness to work under pressure and cope with stress
- flexibility to work unsocial hours, including public holidays, and attend residential holidays with young people
- A current driving license is desirable
