Requirements
hold a full current UK driving licence and ability to travel as job requires
commercial and cost management skills – an understanding of opex, capex and water industry funding mechanisms is desirable
experience of managing projects and contractors is preferred, along with an appropriate qualification
ideally have 3 years’ experience in the water industry in either an asset management, operational, capital, analytical, project management or financial role/s
effective verbal and written communication skills
to be able to build positive relationships with, manage and influence stakeholders
knowledge and experience of the operation and management of potable water systems from source to tap, including a basic understanding of hydraulics
an ability to think holistically across the investment plan to ensure effective day to day delivery of services
Responsibility
as a Water Asset Engineer, you will work with various teams across our business and be involved in identifying network problems, undertaking root cause analysis, and developing investment solutions to mitigate risk
you will play a leading role on all operational mitigation & asset solution decisions, interfacing with stakeholders to ensure the Water Services business meets its serviceability and Measures of Success targets
supporting the Zonal Studies Programme Manager in delivering the AMP7 and 8 programmes of work for Discolouration and AC mains, valued at over £200m, and support the delivery of the wider business plans managed by Water Assets
following the completion of investment projects ensure that an effective handover is undertaken to successfully close the project, update corporate data, and support final accounting activities and lessons learned reviews
supporting and lead on continuous improvement activities on behalf of the department
supporting the Department to develop, plan and implement future AMP plans
