Requirements


  • experience of working on an operational finance transformation programme
  • experience of acquisition/integration within an Insurance environment
  • knowledge of general insurance products, services and classes of insurance
  • A minimum of 6 years of project and programme management experience
  • knowledge of relevant UK insurance related regulations
  • at least 5 years' post qualification experience
  • extensive experience in IFRS reporting
  • experience of technical policy and review of accounts
  • experience within large organisations, similar in size and structure to L&G
  • must be comfortable engaging with a range of stakeholders
  • significant programme/ project management experience, overseeing finance transformation projects involving large scale Finance Data initiatives and Business change
  • understanding of Finance Data in the context of Finance Systems migration, reporting and process changes
  • experience in a previous Data Project role, for a large multi- business and multi- site organisation
  • full understanding of Data Governance in the Finance context
  • functional understanding of the finance system architectures , proactively contributing to related discussion
  • in- depth understanding and significant experience of Data products, services and systems
  • professionally qualified accountant – CCAB/CIMA professional accountancy body or equivalent with up-to-date CPD
  • change Management- experience in impacting and communicating changes to business processes
  • significant financial experience in a change environment
  • awareness of GDPR/ Data privacy legislation

Responsibility


  • ownership and implementation of the Finance Data Strategy, including associated education, business change, policies and documentation
  • managing several data initiatives in readiness for/ in advance of implementation of the Finance Systems roadmap
  • refinement of the newly designed chart of accounts, including business readiness and oversight of data cleanse
  • driving the Data Learning agenda within the Finance function in conjunction with the Chief Data Office
  • on- Boarding Business Units to the Data Governance operating model
  • implementation of MDM application including business case and requirements
  • managing the link between Chief Data Office and Programme, including communicating and agreeing resource requirements and areas where support is required on behalf of the programme
  • provide scrutiny and constructive challenge to support robust financial forecasts for the live running of products and services
  • lead on the corporate finance governance process and represent Corporate Finance at various governance boards to provide specialist advice
  • provide technical finance advice input to governance papers and present to senior stakeholders to inform decision making
  • support, and facilitate where required, continuous improvement of governance processes to ensure robust financial management
  • lead and manage engagement from corporate finance perspective with Legacy Portfolio teams to ensure collaboration with projects to support financial information requirements prior to transferring products or services to the organisation
  • collaborate and engage with stakeholders to develop the understanding of the importance of value for money across the organisation
  • work with Programme Finance to analyse capital assets and expenditure, treatment, estimated useful life and compliance with organisation’s capital policies
  • support various stakeholders across the organisation to identify finance gaps and evaluate inter-dependences, risks and impacts to then propose resolutions and escalate where required
  • identify non-compliant expenditure for further analysis
  • consult specialists’ stakeholders to support treatment transfer of assets involving of IT capital expenditure
  • work with the wider Corporate Finance team to share knowledge on the complex nature of the Legacy Portfolio and supporting with maintaining a collaborative culture
  • identify assets due to transfer from the organisation’s programme, ensuring there are robust processes in place such as a capital asset transfer plan, along with agreed principles to support the transfer of assets
  • responsibility for reviewing daily Bank reconciliations and working as a key point of contact for escalation in the Bank rec team
