Responsibility


  • plan product ranges and prepare sales and stock plans
  • you’ll play a key role in maximising profits by setting prices, managing performance and planning promotions and markdowns
  • communicate product range plans to our Visual Merchandiser, Retail, Stock and eCommerce teams
  • work with the Finance Director to forecast profits, sales and plan budgets to control stock levels
  • maintain a comprehensive portfolio of range plan data
  • analyse the previous season’s sales and report on the current season’s lines at a weekly Buying and Merchandising meeting
  • as PAC Buyer and Retail Merchandiser at Wheelbase Lakeland Limited you will be responsible for range planning and monitoring performance of Parts, Accessories and Clothing from our industry leading cycling brands
  • maintain awareness of competitors’ performance and cycle market trends
  • your role is to ensure that these products appear in the right store and website, at the right time, in the right quantities and replenishment monitored
  • meet with suppliers and manage the distribution of stock, by negotiating best cost prices, ordering stock, agreeing timescales and delivery dates and completing the necessary paperwork
  • ensuring all machines are filled, cleaned, serviced and merchandised to the required standards
  • communicating with all stores to ensure smooth roll out of all VM areas
  • responsible for correct completion of route paperwork
  • working closely with internal departments, buying, merchandising, marketing to gather all relevant and important information
  • responsible for rectifying minor 1st line machine faults
  • supporting stores with set up activities and roll out plans
  • responsible for the collection and return of machine cash to HO on a weekly basis
  • review the weekly sales figures and undertake analysis and action to continually update forward buying forecasts
  • identify trends which represent any risks to profit margins
  • to manage the in-season Open-to-Buy down to category level using the WSSI
