Requirements


  • A Master's degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, including marketing, public relations, or communication
  • A minimum of 12 year's relevant marketing, communications or public relations experience with at least seven years at a senior level
  • bachelor's degree in business, public administration, political science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • minimum of 10 years of experience within public sector relations, government affairs within the commercial real estate or property development industry
  • proven track record of successfully building and maintaining relationships with public sector stakeholders, including government officials, regulators, and community leaders
  • strong understanding of government processes, policies, and regulations, with the ability to navigate complex political landscapes
  • excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts to diverse audiences
  • strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a demonstrated ability to drive initiatives from conception to implementation
  • highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively
  • collaborative team player with strong leadership skills and the ability to influence and inspire others
  •  Bachelors degree in journalism, marketing, public relations preferred. Graduate degree in a related field is desirable
  •  Experience working with volunteers is desirable
  •  Significant communications experience that includes a blend of advocacy and media relations
  •  A strong track record of positioning an organisation to achieve tangible outcomes in a competitive communications environment
  •  Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations activities
  •  Ability to coach and support senior leaders as spokespersons
  •  Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organisational and personal sales skills
  •  Proven experience as Marketing Director
  •  Experience developing and managing budgets, and hiring, training, developing, supervising and appraising personnel
  •  Minimum of 5 years experience in marketing, communications or public relations with demonstrated success, preferably in the not-for-profit or association sector

Responsibility


  • ensures that all collateral and printed materials meet brand standards and adhere to the brand guidelines
  • experience in managing and launching multiple projects, including strategy, digital platform, budgeting and media strategy planning
  • demonstrates ability to delegate responsibilities appropriately
  • overseeing internal and external communications
  • initiate clear, consistent messaging and behaviour consistent with the brand, and instil appreciation across the company
  • works closely with the Director to plan and implement a broad range of strategies and tactical plans to meet business goals and communication, and other initiatives
  • coordinate and lead public relations efforts
  • demonstrates ability to establish two-way communication by clearly defining expectations, communicating utilising a variety of methods, actively listening to ideas and concerns and responding in an appropriate manner
  • must have strong communication, writing, presentation, and creativity with entrepreneurial experience
  • contribute to communications standards, guidelines and protocols to support the company brand and monitor its use for consistency
  • identifying significant media and public policy issues to support the firm's work and implementing plans
  • cultivating and maintaining strong media relationships
  • develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for engaging with public sector entities at the local, regional, and national levels
  • cultivate and nurture relationships with government officials, agencies, and decision-makers to identify potential opportunities for collaboration and investment
  • lead negotiations and partnership discussions with public sector entities, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives
  • monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of public sector engagement efforts, adjusting strategies as needed to achieve desired outcomes
  • serve as the primary point of contact for all public sector-related matters, representing the company's interests and advocating for policies and initiatives that support our business objectives
  • collaborate with internal teams to assess market trends, regulatory developments, and other factors that may impact our interactions with the public sector
  • designing and implementing a targeted government relations strategy
  • support AIUK in gaining external investment and subsidies where relevant for innovative developments in sustainable products and/or manufacturing
