Responsibility


  • ensure alignment of technology interlocks across existing and new requirements
  • support the development of official statistics products in various digital formats ready for publication on UKHSA’s GOV website
  • create content on Whitehall publisher, draft reports, landing pages, and collection pages, and submit content for review, ready for publication
  • support the release of any ad hoc publications as and when required
  • build relationships with product leads and Digital Content teams
  • keep up to date on and use the GDS style guide and other standards to design high quality, accessible content
  • work collaboratively with statistics product leads and the wider team to develop statistical outputs that are engaging to the user and ensuring content remains aligned with user need
  • be an active member of the content design community, contributing to knowledge of best practices
  • help to maintain the official statistics release calendar for UKHSA outputs on GOV website, liaise with product leads to ensure outputs are pre-announced on Whitehall publisher and published to those timescales
  • support the official statistics publications process end to end, flagging risks, issues or breaches of the Code with the Head of Profession for Statistics or other nominated statistics lead
  • manage, design and lead development of WordPress websites to a high standard, ensuring advanced functionality
  • create content and edit input from others, in a concise, customer focused way, maintaining excellent structure and grammar
  • optimise websites for SEO and page speed
  • assist in shaping our digital marketing strategies across platforms, including search engines and social media. Take a lead in internal strategy discussions
  • writing copy for Content including blog posts, social media copy, emails, website copy, print
  • liaise and collaborate with our creative and marketing team
  • identify customers’ needs and gaps in the current content and recommend new topics
  • writing and creating SEO optimised content, boosting our SERP rankings to be ahead of our competitors
  • work with the web development team to regularly update web content that reflects new product features and developments
  • own and continuously improve our end-to-end writing processes
