Requirements


  • enhanced DBS check
  • you must hold a Probation Officer qualification or be a qualified Probation Officer
  • 2-3 years experience minimum in a previous YOT/Probation setting
  • 1-2 years previous experience in probation/youth offending
  • immediate start is desired but not essential

Responsibility


  • post holders will undertake the full range of youth justice service tasks with young people under YJS supervision including assesment, sentence implmentation and producing reports
  • provide an effective Social Work service including assessment, specialist assessments, case planning, intervention and reviews, operating a Social Work service within departmental policy, practice and procedures
  • work with other agencies and groups to prevent crime and meet the needs of victims and offenders
  • producing reports;utilising service procedures and practice directions to underpin
  • to work collaboratively with colleagues, maintain effective teamrelationships and provide professional guidance and support to ProbationServices Officer and other staff as appropriate
  • to provide cover within your team and to other teams as required
  • carry out safeguarding children duties in accordance with the NPS statutory responsibilities and agency policies
  • to use computer based systems to produce, update and maintain records and other documentation within agreed timescales
  • to undertake prison, home or alternate location visits as required in accordance with service procedures and policies
  • to undertake work in the court setting, including the completion of appropriate reports on cases and prosecution of breaches
  • candidates applying will be writing PSR's for the Sefton team, candidate's should be experienced in writing reports and working to deadlines. This role will be remote working, the occasional visit to the office location may be required
  • to undertake the full range of offender management tasks with offenders assessed as low or medium risk of harm and to support the Probation Officer grade in high risk cases
  • when providing case manager support, to contribute to the delivery of the Risk Management plan and report significant changes relating to risk of harm and/or of reoffending or any non-compliance within agreed enforcement procedures
  • ensure effective referrals to services and facilities and communicate with offender management staff, interventions staff, service providers and external agencies to review progress and associated risks
  • the job holder is expected to accept reasonable alterations and additional tasks of a similar level that may be necessary
  • working in offender Management High Wycombe is our office of choice, however candidate could be based at Aylesbury or Milton Keynes
