  • degree or Level 6 qualification
  • indefinite leave and/or right to work in the UK, and have lived in the UK continuously for the last three years

  • have a Level 3 qualification OR 2 A level's or an academic or vocational qualification gained outside England and Wales which is considered by the UK National Recognition Information Centre to be equivalent to a level 3 qualification
  • there may be times we cannot interview all disabled people who meet the essential criteria for the job
  • you will be at the forefront of maintaining law and order, protecting the vulnerable, and ensuring the safety of our community
  • for example, seasonal and high-peak times

Responsibility


  • ● Ensuring the welfare needs of detainees are met through the development and implementation of a care plan
  • ● Monitoring multiple detainees and responding to individual needs
  • ● Taking fingerprints, DNA and photographs of detainees
  • ● Maintenance of custody, including safety checks and cleanliness of the facility
  • ● Ensuring that persons in police detention are afforded their rights and entitlements and are cared for and treated ethically and in accordance with legislation and Home Office rules
  • ● The reception of police detainees involving the creation of computer records to book persons into police custody and the recording of actions and activities during detention
  • attend emergency and non-emergency calls
  • receive and critically assess enquiries, crime reports and intelligence from the public, policeand other agencies
  • give advice and take appropriate action, being accountable for getting it right first time and
  • identify the appropriate action to resolve at first point of contact whenever possible or to determine the appropriate agency, deployment grading and priority of enquiries that cannot be resolved at the Front Counter
  • clearly and accurately record relevant information into an extensive range of computer systems for a variety of intended audiences, including other police departments and external agencies
  • interrogate and analyse a broad range of information systems in order to asses risk and gather relevant supporting data to provide the best and safest resolution to enquiries/requests
