Requirements


  • corporate: 3 years
  • UK Law Firm: 2 years

  • qualified solicitor/barrister/Legal executive with current membership of the Law Society or Bar Standards Board
  • evidence of continuing professional development and expert knowledge in the area of Healthcare and Social Care
  • experience of working within a legal setting in a politically sensitive environment, providing high-quality advice to a wide range of customers
  • proven track record of building strong working relationships across a large, complex organisation and with internal and external partners/stakeholders and clients
  • ability to provide clear advice on complex matters to both to both the client base and other colleagues
  • experience of a full range of health and social care matters, including the requirements under the Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act 1983, Mental Capacity Act 2000, NHS Act 2006. Experience in dealing with Court of Protection matters

Responsibility


  • ensuring due diligence checks and money laundering checks are carried out
  • any other "ad hoc" duties when required
  • act as a legal practitioner and advocate providing specialist advice, professional consultation and support to colleagues within your team
  • to understand client needs and provide them with a service they value; driving the delivery of productivity and efficiency improvement
  • support the development of current and future business opportunities, to promote the Essex Legal Services’ vision to the external market
  • delegated functions as detailed in the council’s constitution
  • responsible for providing timely and accurate legal advice across the Council and to external customers, including constructively challenging where appropriate to produce the best possible outcomes
  • accountable for delivering outcomes against the business plan for legal services which supports and drives the councils wider Organisation Strategy and vision
  • build strong working relationships across the Council, NHS Bodies, other local authorities and the private sector to ensure a quality advice service is provided to the customer
  • these vacancies are for permanent roles across all our Bristol based divisions
  • checking, amending, negotiating and approving standard licence agreements
  • we have roles that can be worked full-time, part-time or as part of a job share
  • for certain roles, some travel may be required
  • drafting and negotiating amendments to licence agreements
  • reviewing and negotiating third party agreements
  • please note salary is non-negotiable
  • working across high value, multi-territory and global SVOD licensing
  • assisting the Acquisition team with third party and Group content acquisition contracting and queries
