Requirements


  • an exciting opportunity has arisen for a FULL TIME, partial or fully qualified paraplanner to work based around the Southport area
  • the ideal person will need experience working within the Financial Services industry as a Paraplanner and have a working and competent knowledge of financial services products
  • previous paraplanner experience
  • product knowledge: SIPP, SSAS, DB, DC, EIS's, VCT's, Investment Bond's, Unit Trust's and protection
  • system experience: XPLAN, Selectapension, Dynamic planner, Trustnet
  • working towards FCA level 4 regulated and registered with the CII or equivalent
  • an understanding of the wealth management business in the UK
  • FCA level 4 regulated for a minimum period of 18 months, and registered with the CII or equivalent
  • ability to work independently, confidently and prioritise
  • understanding of client profiling, risk analysis and asset allocation
  • the ability to clearly articulate and escalate issues and solutions along with providing constructive challenge
  • strong analytical and lateral thinking, numerate and excellent time management skills
  • 3 years experience within the wealth planning industry in a junior paraplanner role working towards FCA registration dealing with HNW and UHNW clients resident in the UK
  • client focused with a flexible, driven and team focused approach to work
  • minimum of 5 years experience within the wealth planning industry in a paraplanner role dealing with HNW and UHNW clients resident in the UK
  • diploma in Regulated Financial Planning
  • working towards Chartered Status
  • at least 2 years’ experience working as a Paraplanner
  • A comprehensive knowledge of pensions and investments
  • educated to Degree level

Responsibility


  • technical calculations including bond encashments, pension withdrawals and LTA calculations
  • technical calculations and solution shaping, including IHT planning, chargeable events, LTA calculations, carry forward calculations and plan encashment options

  • the team are currently considering succession planning, with a couple of their Senior Advisors approaching retirement age
  • assist in the preparation of client reports and financial plans under the guidance of senior Paraplanners
  • lead, manage and work alongside a team of paraplanners in a Player/ Manager role; providing guidance, mentoring, and training as needed
  • supporting financial advisors with research, analysis and report writing
  • supporting financial advisors in preparing for client meetings
  • supporting the existing UK LWA sales team in the process of on-boarding new clients along with conducting ongoing client reviews and servicing. Also providing support to the LWA Senior Management team where required
  • liaising directly with clients where appropriate and contacting third parties for any additional information that maybe required or to answer third party questions/queries
  • overall responsibility for ensuring that the management of the LWA partners, introducers and third party database is carried out effectively ensuring appropriate documentation is completed and Compliance approval received to onboard the third party
  • support the coordination of all aspects of the tailor made, complex financial cross-border solutions until the transactions have been approved and agreed with all stakeholders
