Requirements


  • A minimum of 2-3 years experience in a similar role
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience producing management accounts
  • ERP System experience
  • experience in creating a set of a consolidated set of monthly management accounts
  • xero accounting software preferrable
  • ACCA/CIMA/ACA part qualification as a minimum
  • experience in SaaS business preferable, especially at a startup or scale up business
  • IRIS Accounting Software: 1 year
  • management accountant government interim consultancy local council accounts production transformation
  • CCAB/CIMA or equivalent essential
  • recognised Accountancy Qualification
  • previous experience in a Local Government finance environment and supporting senior service management teams
  • knowledge of the current finance issues facing Local Government
  • proactive balance of risk and benefit
  • simple explanations for complex, technical information
  • knowledge and experience of Public Sector finance desirable
  • ACA or ACCA qualified
  • experience of generating financial budgets
  • ability to manage month-end and audit processes
  • production of budgets and forecasts

Responsibility


  • reporting to the Head of Finance assisting in supervising the AP/AR team
  • reporting to the Financial controller
  • bank/credit card reconciliation
  • own management accounts for one business entity - prepayments, accruals, balance sheet reconciliation
  • VAT returns
  • reconciliation of income and revenue reporting of multiple sites
  • month-end optimisation and month-end duties, reporting
  • supporting the sales team to ensure correct revenue recognition of corporate income
  • prepare financial statements
  • take ownership of weekly reporting and monthly management accounts analysing performance and providing Variance Analysis
  • cashflow and Variance analysis
  • assist with the year-end and half-year audit and preparation of financial statements
  • reconcile spending with budget as part of job costing
  • responsibility for accounts payable and supporting the accounts receivable function
  • preparing commission calculations and processing payroll
  • banking, bank postings & reconciliations
  • support the business with any Finance queries
