  • proven experience as a CFO ideally gained within a Technology of Finance Services associated organisation
  • excellence knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
  • previous experience of transforming a finance function would be advantageous to the position

  • A relevant Accountancy Qualification i.e. ACA, ACCA or CIMA

Responsibility


  • this role is fully remote however, the candidate must live within a 1 hour commute from the DL8 area

  • co-ordinating and directing the preparation of the budget
  • take responsibility for ensuring the effective financial systems and processes are in place in order to meet all statutory and regulatory requirements, as well as reporting and planning the needs of the business
  • assessing and reconciling actual spend to inform financial reviews with Project Managers, Assistant Heads, etc
  • effectively manage resources within area of responsibility to deliver VFM
  • support the delivery of long term financial planning submissions for the Programme Cost Review and Annual Budgeting Cycle at P9/S9 Level, including finance risk capture for review at Finance Manager level
  • support the delivery of In-year Budget and Forecast by conducting detailed work against specific project areas, including carrying out timely and accurate reporting
  • manage accounts to ensure they are robust, associated Project Accounts, asset delivery and inventory information is accurately maintained, reconciled and reported )
  • make autonomous decisions in relation to low value Business Cases/Approvals within own limit of financial delegation. Provide support for financial accounting returns and processes and assist with reviews as appropriate
  • support the delivery of a robust compliance and governance framework including discharge of effective financial requirements, Value for Money decisions and affordability scrutiny, assurance and financial concurrence within delegated authority
  • provide accurate, timely financial accounts and other information to comply with statutory requirements and enable informed decisions
  • the CFO role is to lead, develop and coordinate the Trust’s financial strategy in order to support
