Requirements

knowledge and understanding of the technologies

qualified Accountant with experience in Finance Systems Projects, Implementations and Process Improvement
hands-on experience within a Finance Function as a Controller/Director having performed the regular day-to-day activities
able to work independently, but also build relationships and challenge stakeholders on optimal ways of working
available at short or no notice and comfortable commuting to central London 2 - 3 days per week
experience in the Travel Industry would be highly advantageous due to the nature of the business and the complexity and staging of customer and supplier billing
strong experience in Oracle ERP Cloud, Oracle Integration Cloud and related technologies with multiple full lifecycle programmes and ongoing support
deep understanding of different methods of cleansing, migrating and reconciling data, their pros/cons and when each type is most suitable
broad experience of Finance processes and systems and related best practices
experience of OTBI or other reporting tools is a benefit
experience of working in a SOX Compliant environment
ability to build good relationships with end users and senior stakeholders
ability to lead and manage 3rd party supplier resources
ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders
strong knowledge of core Finance processes

Responsibility

prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
location: TauntonFinance Business Partnering team We are looking for someone to support us with developing our forecasting and reporting for the Dedicated Schools Grant High Needs Block, focusing on the Deficit Management Plan
delivery of long term planning submissions and Annual Budgeting Cycle ), including options
delivery of In-year Budget and Forecast, coordinating monthly submissions and commentary packs in line with the consolidated review timetable
undertake reviews of Business Cases and financial accounting returns and processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
effectively manage resources within area of responsibility to deliver VFM
provision of Cost Models to support evaluation of industry bids and to provide robust evidence in support of financial approvals
ensure accounts are robust, associated Project Account, asset delivery and inventory information is accurately maintained and reconciled and reporting is delivered
ensure delivery of a robust compliance and governance framework including discharge of effective financial requirements, Value for Money and affordability scrutiny, assurance and financial concurrence within delegated authority
