Responsibility


  • the role is for a qualified accountant to support the coordination of the Council’s Business Partnering to the Housing Revenue Account including the monthly budget monitoring cycle, the five-year budget strategy and the closing of the Council’s management accounts
  • the role holder will be required to work closely with the service area to support the effective delivery of the HRA’s service objectives and ambitions
  • the role holder will support the Council in meeting its reporting requirements to residents through ensuring that monthly budget monitoring is delivered in line with the Council’s monitoring timetable and that variances and movements are understood and communicated to the Administration and the residents of Hillingdon via monthly Cabinet Reports
  • furthermore, the role will support the reporting of the Council’s five-year budget strategy to the Administration and support operational staff in the context of updates to property changes and other demographic impacts, the economic climate and Government announcements, leading to the Council presenting a consultation budget to Cabinet in December 2023 before finalising the budget strategy in February 2024
  • the role holder will work closely with finance colleagues, particularly within the Capital Finance Team who oversee the Capital Programme budget for the HRA, with both the HRA Finance Team and the Capital Finance Team sitting under the Head of Strategic Finance

  • becoming a leader on business initiatives, ultimately constructing proposals for FD and MD approval
  • budgeting, forecasting and reporting across a wide range of Group Places activities

  • support the Management team in creating, understanding and evolving a holistic view of Technology investment across the group
