Responsibility


  • review project plans, drawings, and specifications to understand the scope of work
  • research and prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor services including any transport requirements
  • establish and maintain relationships with contractors and vendors
  • assess risk levels associated with the project
  • monitor costs at all stages of the project to ensure estimates are accurate
  • collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for estimating
  • analyse blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labour estimates
  • identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
  • present estimates to management and clients in a clear and detailed manner
  • maintain records of estimated and actual costs
  • preparing and submitting accurate and competitive electrical estimates for a variety of projects, from small refurbishments to large-scale new builds
  • reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and other project documentation to determine project scope and requirements
  • conducting site visits to assess project feasibility, identify potential issues, and gather information for cost estimation
  • liaising with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to clarify project requirements and resolve any issues
  • collaborating with other members of the estimating team to ensure consistency and accuracy in estimates
  • keeping up to date with industry developments and emerging technologies to ensure the company's competitiveness in the market
