Responsibility

review project plans, drawings, and specifications to understand the scope of work
research and prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor services including any transport requirements
establish and maintain relationships with contractors and vendors
assess risk levels associated with the project
monitor costs at all stages of the project to ensure estimates are accurate
collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for estimating
analyse blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labour estimates
identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
present estimates to management and clients in a clear and detailed manner
maintain records of estimated and actual costs
preparing and submitting accurate and competitive electrical estimates for a variety of projects, from small refurbishments to large-scale new builds
reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and other project documentation to determine project scope and requirements
conducting site visits to assess project feasibility, identify potential issues, and gather information for cost estimation
liaising with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to clarify project requirements and resolve any issues
collaborating with other members of the estimating team to ensure consistency and accuracy in estimates
keeping up to date with industry developments and emerging technologies to ensure the company's competitiveness in the market
