Responsibility


  • manage all aspects of a CMO portfolio, total spend of $50 million, delivering Total Cost of Ownership benefits through the introduction and implementation of a robust Category Management process
  • put into effect a Supplier Relationship Management with key CMOs acting as a single point of contact, whilst ensuring contractual KPIs are achieved/exceeded, and benefits are identified and implemented across the product portfolio
  • establish precise risk profiles for key CMOs and develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies to keep the smooth running of supply with no interruptions
  • managing the purchasing of complex, high profile and or high value requirements
  • supplier management of third party contracts
  • ensuring all purchasing is undertaken in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations, Client Procurement Policy and central government policy and guidance
  • recording all Procurement information sufficiently to enable the organisation to meet its Central Government responsibilities
  • providing professional procurement advice and guidance to staff on all contractual issues
  • providing product, services & market knowledge and experience as required, to ensure you can challenge requirements effectively and ensure competitive tenders are being received

  • you'll take into account the price, sustainability, quality and delivery and ensure continuity of supply
  • building, maintaining and managing supplier relationships, to ensure that risks are identified, and that performance is managed
  • length: 3 monthsLocation: Remote with some travel to Cannock & London
  • you will be responsible for managing a number of the clients indirect categories ensuring timely delivery within a fast moving, operational environment, always ensuring that Health & Safety, operational, environmental and commercial needs are met
  • negotiating contracts, prices and terms of business with suppliers, reviewing opportunities and delivering value across a range of criteria
  • collaborating with team members to develop the Procurement function both internally and as a strategic resource, cultivating key stakeholder relationships and acting as a subject matter expert on Procurement and Supply Chain requirements
  • working collaboratively, negotiating and engaging with stakeholders and suppliers regarding new projects, supplies and initiatives and advising of impact of change on purchasing and production activities
  • proven category management and purchasing experience in a blue-chip organisation
  • responsible for remaining up to date with any changes that may affect the supply and demand of required goods, materials or services and advise relevant stakeholders of any potential impact
  • experience of indirect categories or generalist procurement
