Requirements


  • CHARTERED MECHANICAL ENGINEER Building Services
  • engineering and/or a construction industry related engineering qualification
  • complex environment, with experience of managing design standards and assurance
  • body
  • ? Degree qualified in mechanical engineering, building services engineering, architectural
  • ? Five years minimum project bio containment management in a research, science or similar
  • ideally Experience of the design support to construction, operation, refit/repair of conventional and nuclear submarines
  • experience in working effectively in a team and independently

  • good communication skills, including the ability to contribute effectively to meetings, produce bills of quantities and interpret data
  • experience in interpreting highway condition data
  • experience of supervising and monitoring of contractors undertaking highway improvements, developments and maintenance and associated construction works
  • degree in Civil Engineering or related disciplines
  • knowledge and understanding of all relevant legislation regulations and guidance in respect of the Highway Infrastructure Management

Responsibility


  • the work undertaken at the clients site in Weybridge has a heavy Building Services leaning; this is due to the site
  • safety Case Engineers – to communicate design specification enabling justification and fulfilment of any associated Safety Functional Requirements
  • user Acceptance Group – demonstration that the designed systems will meet the functional User Requirements
  • design Authority – to advise on technical governance aspects of deliverables to ensure that quality is of required standard
  • other Engineers of all level and discipline – to ensure that the engineering packages interface with the other packages, and to resolve conflicts / clashes
  • other Designers and Engineers from within Facilities Engineering and other MIP projects for design coordination across disciplines
  • operations & Integration Lead – communication of operational capabilities for systems to ensure that the overall operational concept meets the high level capability requirements of the Facility
  • project / Package Manager – to communicate on project deliverables to scope, schedule and cost. Raise any technical issues that may have an effect on overall project delivery
  • qualifications and Experience Requirements
  • ideally Chartered Engineer, registered with Engineering Council or working towards chartership
  • ideally Degree or HND in an appropriate engineering discipline
  • ideally equivalent nuclear and/or marine system knowledge
  • you will be focused on ensuring compliance with Licence Conditions, statutory legislation and design codes/standards
  • you will work primarily with HVAC systems, Domestic Water Services, Industrial Gases and Local Exhaust Ventilation
  • responsible for undertaking design activities from requirements capture

  • support the Highway Asset Manager to manage assigned budgets in delivery of maintenance programmes
  • ensure compliance with the ‘Corporate Procurement Manual’ and prepare procurement reports for authorisation as required
