Responsibility


  • the objective of the role is to Produce comprehensive asbestos survey reports and guidance documentation. Carry out safety inspections, provide project management advice and recommendations on surveys and removal works
  • carrying out management, refurbishment and demolition surveys on various sites including domestic, commercial, and occasionally industrial
  • to provide quality services and information to clients, must have knowledge of all current asbestos health and safety regulations
  • build and maintain relationships within their large client network
  • produce comprehensive asbestos reports
  • re-inspection Surveys to large supermarket and convenience store type premises
  • management / RandD Surveys to sites that are undergoing a shop fit-out
  • reactive Air- monitoring to emergency call-out jobs
  • travelling an area of the country to carry out a regional surveys as part of the management plans
  • all Hotels and accommodation and meals provided for
  • working in the Office on a Friday to consolidate reports and take part in up-skill training sessions
  • submitting reports and samples on a weekly basis
  • dealing with any client queries which may arise onsite
  • carry out ad-hoc bulk sampling works as required
  • management and Refurbishment/Demolition Asbestos Surveys, Re-inspections and Audits
  • technical competency and relevant experience to take on ‘Duty to Manage’ responsibilities
  • liaise with other departments throughout the council, during all stages of the asbestos survey and report writing process
  • this includes providing asbestos management advice and guidance, assisting project managers with asbestos compliance on repairs and construction works
  • liaise with other departments on all asbestos remediation works
  • reviewing all documentation associated with the remediation process and carrying out quality assurance works when required

What's involved with this role: Interim Asbestos Surveyor Reference no: NNC (HQ) NNC TCL 14588 Pay Rate: £23.08 per hour PAYE 37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours This opening assignment is for 6 months City: KETTERING An enthusiastic and energetic Asbestos Surveyor to join Corby Borough Council’s Asbestos Management Team based at the Fleming Road Depot to undertake asbestos survey work. The Asbestos Team ensures that the Council complies with relevant requirements under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974. The team also provides advice to other council departments on asbestos management. Reporting directly to the Team Leader – Compliance and working closely with the Asbestos Works Co-ordinator, your role will be to carry out asbestos surveys, (Management, Refurbishment and Demolition) in Corby Councils Domestic, Commercial and Culture and Leisure properties.
