What's involved with this role: Interim Asbestos Surveyor Reference no: NNC (HQ) NNC TCL 14588 Pay Rate: £23.08 per hour PAYE 37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours This opening assignment is for 6 months City: KETTERING An enthusiastic and energetic Asbestos Surveyor to join Corby Borough Council’s Asbestos Management Team based at the Fleming Road Depot to undertake asbestos survey work. The Asbestos Team ensures that the Council complies with relevant requirements under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974. The team also provides advice to other council departments on asbestos management. Reporting directly to the Team Leader – Compliance and working closely with the Asbestos Works Co-ordinator, your role will be to carry out asbestos surveys, (Management, Refurbishment and Demolition) in Corby Councils Domestic, Commercial and Culture and Leisure properties. You will need to input data, prepare reports and maintain detailed records, so IT skills are essential, although training will be given. You will have a very good knowledge of asbestos legislation and associated guidance as well as experience of asbestos surveys and laboratory protocols Key Responsibilities: Carry out management and demolition/refurbishment asbestos surveys of any type of property within the council’s property portfolio.
