Responsibility

  • this will involve ensuring that the Chief Executive is provided with effective guidance and support
  • the post-holder will have a key leadership role, ensuring that the organisation can act effectively, and fulfil its obligations as a statutory body
  • there will be a need for flexibility and creativity as the organisation continues to evolve and develop its role and functions, and its organisational capacity
  • the post-holder will lead the work of the Operations function, ensuring that the organisation and Board is effectively supported to deliver its functions
  • you will manage the staff and resources available to the organisation to design, procure and deliver high quality, robust governance and corporate services
  • deputising for the Chief Executive as required
  • the Director of Operations will also provide leadership on particular pieces of work that the Chief Executive identifies as part of their work plan
  • supporting the Chief Executive in developing a vision for Consumer Scotland as a highly competent, reliable, respected, accessible, transparent and accountable independent consumer advocacy body and providing leadership and direction to the organisation through setting the highest standards of integrity and professionalism
