Responsibility
- measure and mark surfaces to be tiled and calculate the number of tiles needed
- prepare surfaces by removing old tiles, grout, or adhesive
- mix and apply mortar or other adhesives to secure tiles in place
- cut, shape, and trim tiles to fit around obstacles and in tight spaces
- align and straighten tiles using levels, squares, and straightedges
- apply grout between tiles and remove excess grout for a smooth finish
- clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work area
Requirements
- proven experience as a tile setter or similar role
- strong knowledge of different types of tiles, adhesives, and grouts
- familiarity with tile installation techniques and industry standards
- ability to read and interpret blueprints and tile layout plans
- excellent attention to detail and precision in tile placement
- physical stamina to work on your feet for extended periods of time
- good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
