Responsibility


  • assist in identifying and organizing requirements. Apply relevant usability procedures and principles
  • analyse, design, develop and maintain products and assist in their commercialization
  • produce analyses and mathematical models and draw design conclusions based on those
  • create and maintain product documentation. Provide support to field and customers through InTouch. Provide user training as required
  • assign, direct and review work of technicians and provide guidance to engineers. With seniority, mentor junior engineers
  • produce digital electronic board specifications, from product or architecture requirements
  • define interfaces and digital parameters
  • please note regular travel to our Stevenage site is essential
  • consider switching speeds, pulses, rise and fall times, feedback and interference, impedance of devices, signal transmission
  • skills/Experience
  • define performance criteria and define how to prove validation and verification of performance with test strategy
  • proven knowledge of and experience with electronic components
  • produce and review circuit diagrams, iterating design where necessary due to circuit analysis outputs and PCB layout constraints
  • strong communication skills to facilitate regular face to face communication with all relevant partners
  • produce and review detailed design analysis e.g. WCA, PSA, FMECA/FMEA
  • the ability to write clear and concise engineering documentation
  • coordination of all technical elements of the project, working with and overseeing the work of design engineers in the same functional team
  • as the Principal Electronics Component Engineer you will continue to maintain your knowledge in specialist areas and ensure it is effectively passed to others, this includes participating in design reviews, training and other development activities to enable our client to maintain its capability
  • experience of obsolescence and sourcing alternative components
  • there is also the opportunity to support and lead international continuous improvement initiatives to help define best practice and manage the adoption and adherence of agreed methodologies across the teams on an international scale
