  • ability to work alone in accordance with Company Lone Working Policy as well as working within a team
  • demonstrate self-motivation and self-management with good customer service skills, always prepared to put our customers first

Responsibility

  • be responsible for updating your readings and findings in real time via a handheld device
  • plan and optimize your own route and visit times to improve performance
  • where necessary arrange appointments with customers and directly liaise with clients on site

  • our roles offer a flexible working aspect and the ability to control your own earnings. They are suited to those who have their own vehicle, enjoy working outdoors, have excellent customer-facing skills, and have good local knowledge
  • thames Valley Utilities pay our meter readers per site visit, allowing our team members to earn significantly more than similar roles offering a fixed salary. Our established meter readers typically make between £90 and £130 per day
  • we never expect our meter readers to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, or bank holidays, but the option is there if you wish
  • operating Meter Reading equipment in accordance with business processes and escalating issues with equipment appropriately
  • attending meter sites including within customers premises meeting with customers face to face
  • carrying out appointed visits in accordance with business processes and Regulatory standards
  • escalating customer issues in accordance with agreed business processes
  • promptly reporting safety issues that could affect employees, work colleagues, customers or members of the public
  • referring customers to the appropriate sources of help as necessary
  • ensuring that key performance indicators are met for each job type
