  • design low voltage electrical distribution systems; control & instrumentation systems; communications and data systems
  • design of high voltage AC and DC distribution systems

  • sound understanding of engineering design and safety practice as relevant to discipline, post and project requirements
  • experience of substantiation of SIL and high integrity systems for justification of Nuclear Safety functions
  • sound project specification, planning, project management and budgeting experience
  • A degree or equivalent in an Electrical or Electronic Engineering related discipline
  • working knowledge of relevant engineering computer applications
  • design of electrical building services, to include fire detection and alarm systems, industrial lighting and emergency lighting, site broadcast and HVAC
  • preferably Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards it and member or associate member of relevant institute
  • be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge and skills required for the technical delivery of complex design development throughout the design lifecycle
  • experience of the design support to construction, operation, refit/repair of complex regulated facilities
  • provide expert advice to the sub-contracted design houses to enable them to develop the design or undertake detailed design activities to suit the design delivery strategy
  • degree or equivalent in an Electrical or Electronic Engineering related discipline
  • good, broad, electronic engineering knowledge

  • contract management and programme control
  • customer point of contact for issues
  • formal testing of production kit
  • customer facing meetings and Factory Acceptance Tests
  • fault finding and possible repair of production kit
  • first line answering service for technical questions
  • originate estimates to support customer
  • undertaking design modifications and design investigations to improve equipment performance, availability, reliability or in response to obsolescence/new customer requirements
  • ensuring the technical drawing pack and supporting documentation is up to date
  • once you have understood the specification from the client you will be required to specify the Electrical systems
  • the role is to manage a package from the client which includes the high-level concept design and calculations of electrical systems taken from client specifications
  • you will be carrying out concept design and engineering thinking, cost reduction, bid analysis and leasing with clients and the various stakeholders within the business
  • apply aerospace engineering principles and working knowledge to a range of technical problems that require imaginative and practical solutions
  • research, develop, design and test electronic components, equipment, controllers, devices and systems
  • create and review supporting documentation that defines the processes and procedures that control the governance and operation of electrical test activity
  • mentor engineers within the team where appropriate, supporting the development of skills and capability in specialist subject areas
