- key Accountabilities of the role
- you will be responsible for ensuring British Gas Energy’s commercial and operational interests are met across the external and internal MAP whilst supporting financial efficiency across the asset base
- setting and managing the commercial framework for CBS Energy Supply, to ensure that energy supply products offered to customers meet our commercial objectives; balancing the need for competitive pricing with effective governance and controls required to ensure the delivery of sustainable margin
- create an actionable customer segmentation that will enable the business to tailor the customer experience appropriately
- spot opportunities and work with finance and other commercial teams to create a business case and persuade the business to invest
- drive customer retention initiatives through to delivery through collaboration with and organization of your British Gas colleagues
- work with our internal pricing team to develop pricing models and retention toolkits which are fair and commercially sound
- manage the strategy for the portfolio of spend, supported by the business partnering team and the Procurement Portfolio Director
- proactively build an understanding of your customer through dialogue with our colleagues, commissioning of research and listening to customers directly in their homes and on the phone
- ensure key customer satisfaction points are addressed e.g., Trust Pilot reviews
- develop and manage process for monitoring service partner / sub-contractor spend with the business and ensure correct contract in place using forecasting spends across the year
- recruits, Selects, Inducts and Develops people in accordance with established policies and procedures to build an effective team
- ensure compliance with internal and external policies and regulations
- develop a strategy that will enable maximum collaboration & curiosity across business units to create customer benefit and retention
- monitor the performance of internal and external channels and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to drive the necessary interventions to deliver and exceed against key planned objectives
- own the performance of your KPIs, explaining any sudden or gradual trends as well as forecasting the future
- support Head of Metering in shaping future strategy and promoting this within the business
- ensuring customer value is monitored across all products and adherence to all regulatory guidelines are maintained

Requirements
- strong commercial acumen, capability to engage and negotiate at most senior levels in Supplier organisations
- strong supplier relationship management capability across varied set of operational and commercial aspects

- A thorough understanding of the different products and pricing, and the costs of supply to business customers. Energy experience advantageous

- highly numerate with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. So you could come from a Finance background, commercial, pricing or forecasting

- self-starter with ability to program manage and progress multiple activities independently
- good understanding of regulations and policies that govern our business
- knowledge and understanding of business key performance indicators
