technician

Responsibility

  • at all times adhere to the Hospital and ACS regulations
  • cleaning and preparing endoscopes in adherence to Health & Safety
  • maintenance of adequate supplies and assistance with the receipt and storage of goods into and out of the decontamination room
  • ensure that decontamination records are maintained and compiled for the Endoscopy manager
  • be competent in using Wassenberg AER’s
  • fingerprint tracking system, all documentation to be explained on the day
  • all ACS staff must be trained in general decontamination and Wassenberg trained
  • to coordinate and mange workload in the decontamination room, ensuring sufficient endoscopes, so that the patient sessions are managed in a timely manner

  • 1 year experience as a Endoscopy Decontamination Technician within a hospital setting

Requirements

  • registered Nurse with a valid NCMC/HCPC pin
  • valid registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
  • minimum of 1 years experience working as a theatre nurse an operating theatre
  • proven experience in patient care within a clinical setting; minimum 1 year
  • excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear explanations to patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals

  • prepare patients for endoscopic procedures by conducting pre-procedure assessments and providing education on the process
  • assist physicians during endoscopic procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment is available and functioning properly
  • monitor patients' vital signs and comfort levels before, during, and after the procedure, responding promptly to any changes in condition
  • maintain accurate patient records, documenting all relevant information regarding procedures and patient responses
  • collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised care plans for patients
  • ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment in the endoscopy suite
  • provide post-procedure care instructions to patients and their families, addressing any questions or concerns they may have
  • educate patients and their families about post-operative care and recovery processes

sonographer

Responsibility

  • perform ultrasound examinations on patients to capture images for diagnostic purposes
  • provide patient care and ensure comfort throughout the imaging process
  • utilize anatomy knowledge to accurately locate and identify structures during scans
  • collaborate with healthcare team members to discuss findings and contribute to patient care plans
  • maintain equipment and ensure proper functioning for accurate imaging results
  • adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure patient and staff well-being

Requirements

  • 1 year experience working as a Sonographer within an NHS Hospital setting
