• abatec are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a regional civil engineering business, working on road improvements between Tiverton and Abbotsham
• this is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual to join a company that works in a regulated environment where this is security of work on long-term frameworks
• the successful candidate will be initially working on a combination of junction and link improvements between South Molton and Barnstaple with future works lined up in the Devon area
• reporting directly to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will be required to prepare and articulate competent plans for any scale of project that comply with Company and functional procedures and standards
• use a knowledge and understanding of principle costs of resource to identify, manage, reduce and eliminate unnecessary costs and inefficient activities
• record, monitor and review the financial performance of contracts
• be responsible for subcontract procurement and management of subcontractor accounts
• verify accurate payments for sub-contractors
• attend management meetings as and when required e.g. internal handover, formal client pre-let meetings
• administer subcontract accounts and take control of change management
• contribute to the production of accurate and timely CVR reports and forecasts
• complete regular reviews of contract documentation/drawing issues to ensure all parties have access to the correct and most up to date information
