The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting SEN pupils in schools, providing a much-needed service in the community that allows for pupils with ASC to be successfully integrated into mainstream school.Our provision caters to 10 lower school-aged children with a diagnosis of autism and has been commissioned by Central Bedfordshire Local Authority to support with the increased number of children with an EHC plan stating autism as the main special educational need.Although housed in separate buildings, the provision is part of the mainstream school. Specialist Resource Provision Teacher and SENCO\*(\*Willing to undertake the SENCO qualification)An exciting position has become available for September 2023. The role is to teach and lead one of our newly created Specialist Resourced provisions either at one of the two Shared Learning Trust sites of The Vale Academy (Dunstable) or The Rushmere Park academy (Leighton Buzzard).Each provision will provide education to 10 primary-aged children with a diagnosis of autism and have been commissioned by Central Bedfordshire Local Authority to support with the increased number of primary aged children with an EHC plan stating autism as the main special educational need.Although housed in separate buildings the provisions will be part of the mainstream schools and, where appropriate, children will join the main school for learning and activities. The Trust have also been successful in their application to become an Autism Education Trust hub for Central Bedfordshire. The successful candidate will deliver training and ensure that we are fulfilling our commitment to the training of practitioners across Central Bedfordshire.The role, which our leaders play, is instrumental in realising the trusts vision Strive, Achieve, Believe. It is their ability, skillset, knowledge and enthusiasm, which determines the success of the children and the staff at the academy.
