Responsibility
- responsible for the regular and sufficient removal of general, recycling and clinical waste
- ensure all waste streams are segregated, handled, and disposed of in line with the site requirements
- comply with the health and safety procedures when moving waste around the site
- use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received
- provide a portering and messenger service, including the transfer of patients and visitors between wards and departments including A&E admissions to wards and transfers between A&E, X-ray and wards
- collect and deliver a range of goods including, drugs, bloods, furniture, feed bottles, case notes, specimens, x-rays and medical gas cylinders
Requirements
- happy to be in a fast-paced physical role
- strong communication skills
- trained in Manual Handling
- eye for detail
- food hygiene knowledge
