- promote positive care practices by modelling and supporting good standards aligned with the home's goals
- ensure young people participate in care planning and reviews
- demonstrate sensitivity, resilience, and assertiveness in challenging situations, coaching staff as needed
- communicate effectively with parents, family, social workers, and visitors
- ensure reports are consistently completed and accessible
- assist in creating, updating, and implementing individual care plans
- act as a key worker, providing regular key work sessions
- support the House Manager in preparing reports, including Quality of Care
Requirements
- A company led and directed by expert Social Workers, OFSTED professionals and Nurses to support you on a day-today basis
- experience of working with young people with neurodiversity, trauma, mental health issues, and behaviours that challenge
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in residential children’s care, working alongside young people, including 1 year managing and supervising staff
- able to commit to a rolling rota that will include nights
- experience of leading a staff team and ensuring delivery of a consistently high quality of care
- experience of managing challenging situations involving young people who are highly escalated
- must have: NVQ Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare
- full training and support in complex care such as: ligature training, de-escalation techniques, behavioural therapy and crisis management
